EPRC, PRIO Undertake Study on Development Aid Effectiveness in West Nile Region

Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) in collaboration with the Peace Research Institute Oslo(PRIO) in November,2019 carried out a study titled “Development Aid effectiveness, and inequalities in post conflict societies” in West Nile region.

The study which sought to map the usage and perceptions about maternal health services(MHS) in three refugee hosting districts of Arua, Yumbe and Adjumani. The study entailed a survey of 1000 mothers among the local refugee communities in the selected districts. According to Dr. Francis Mwesigye a research fellow at EPRC and team leader, the study is expected to generate useful and new knowledge about health care seeking behavior of mothers in refugee and host communities which will inform policy and planning.

The activity is part of the wider collaboration between EPRC a d PRIO for implementation of the project “Development Aid, Effectiveness and Inequalities in post conflict societies in Northern Uganda.
