Particpants at a five day training workshop on capacity strengthening in value chain anaysis and development
Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) in collaboration with the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and International Food Policy Research Institute are jointly implementing the Policy Action for Sustainable Intensification of Ugandan Cropping Systems (PASIC) project. Besides strengthening the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) in setting policies and actions for agricultural intensification in two zones ( south western Highlands for Irish potatoes and the Lake Kioga plains in Eastern Uganda for rice), one of the strong components of the PASIC project is to strengthen the capacity of participating institutions.
In this regard, EPRC organized a value chain training workshop from February 9th to 13th at the EPRC premises. The value chain training workshop was organized to build the capacity for strengthening rice and potato multi stakeholder interventions through a value chain approach.
