Ms. Hildah Namuleme is the Economic Policy Research Centre’s Young Professional (YP) 2023. This is an annual recognition awarded to the best Master of Arts in Economics student of Makerere University.

The awardee then joins the EPRC research team as a trainee for two years.

Namuleme says she is hopeful that YP opportunity will help develop her research skills in different areas – macro, micro, sectoral as well as the Trade and Regional integration – where the Centre’s research are carried.

She hopes to horn her skills in proposal writing, data collection, analysis, and report writing.

Ms. Namuleme previously worked as an intern at the Centre and said the opportunity to back will help “develop my career as a researcher”.

She follows Mr. Ambrose Ogwang (YP 2022) and Mr. Enock N. Buliime (YP 2020-22). YP awardees go on to be respectable researchers not just at EPRC but also other respectable institutions.

EPRC Executive Director Dr. Sarah N. Ssewanyana and the Human Resources Manager and Administration Ms. Fatumah Namubiru handed the recognition plague to Namuleme during the 73rd graduation ceremony at Makerere University last month. The award is one of EPRC’s avenues through which it develops capacities of young researchers.
