Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) researcher has emerged the best economics forecaster in Uganda for the year 2022 in two key categories.
Corti Paul Lakuma, the EPRC head of Macro department, yet again led the pack of economists in providing the most accurate forecasts in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Fiscal Balance categories for Uganda.
The forecasts are captured by FocusEconomics, a firm that provides macroeconomic intelligence around the world. Every year, economists from reputable organisations crunch numbers and go through tens of documents and observe the political environments of different countries to come up with these forecasts. The figures provided are relied on by investors to make decisions on where their money goes.

Fitch Ratings, Capital Economics, and Citigroup markets respectively took awards for overall best forecasts for Uganda.
