EPRC Participates in Key Conferences in Dakar, Senegal

From November 25-28, 2024, EPRC researchers and the Programmes Manager attended two significant conferences in Dakar, Senegal: the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Research on Food Security Policy, Capacity, and Influence (PRCI Project) annual meeting and the 11th ANAPRI Stakeholders Conference.

At the PRCI Project meeting, Florence Nakazi presented a compelling research proposal on “Public investments in markets and roads infrastructure as pathways for enhancing food security in Uganda.” The proposal received constructive feedback from partner research teams and resource persons, which will be invaluable in its finalization. This platform also facilitated the exchange of experiences and best practices in developing effective policy outreach plans that effectively integrate research findings into the policymaking process.

Subsequently, the EPRC team participated in the 11th ANAPRI Stakeholders Conference. This event provided crucial insights into strengthening the role of ANAPRI centers in promoting the use of data and evidence in policymaking. A key focus of the conference was the “localization agenda,” emphasizing the paramount importance of deeply localizing research processes with external partners, local organizations, and development partners.
