Remembering Dr. Edward K. Brown

Dr Edward K Brown

It is with profound sadness that Economic Policy Research Centre received the news of Dr Edward K. Brown’s sudden passing.

Staff, management, and the entire team at the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC), Uganda, extend our deepest, most heartfelt condolences to the African Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET) family, to Ed’s family, friends, and colleagues.

Ed was a deeply valued partner, and his death is a monumental loss not only to ACET but to Africa’s entire policy, research, and development fraternity. He was a distinguished economist, a visionary Pan-Africanist, and a fierce champion of Africa’s economic transformation.

At EPRC, we recognise and will always deeply appreciate Ed’s extraordinary commitment to evidence-informed policymaking and regional integration; inclusive economic transformation across the African continent; and advancing quality education and women’s economic empowerment. His intellectual leadership, humility, generosity, and passion leave behind a profound legacy that will continue to guide and inspire our institutions and the next generation of researchers.

Please rest assured that our commitment to our shared mission remains as steadfast as ever. We stand in solidarity with ACET during this incredibly difficult time. May you find comfort in the lasting impact he made, the people he mentored, and the vision for Africa to which he devoted his life.

May Dr. Edward K. Brown’s soul rest in eternal peace.
