EPRC has received a grant from the Netherland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Sustainable Economic Development Department) to undertake a study on the Effects of Currency Fluctuations on Borrowing and Investment Decisions by Micro Small and Medium Enterprises in Developing Countries: The case study of Uganda, Kenya and Ghana. The aim of this study is to understand the influence of currency fluctuations on availability of loanable funds for MSMEs in developing countries. In addition, the study will explore available financing options (domestically or internationally) that could be accessed to mitigate the MSME lending problem caused by currency fluctuations in developing countries.
