Dr. Isaac Shinyekwa [4th R-L] , a Research Fellow at the Economic Policy Research Centre in a group photo with Colleagues during a Workshop on “Setting up a Network of Experts on Agriculture Public Expenditure in Africa” as part of the Support to the Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) Country Implementation Processes. The workshop was held in Cape Town, South Africa from December 1 – 3, 2015 and it brought together government representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture, Planning and Finance, as well as other sector stakeholders.
The workshop was part of the Agriculture Public Expenditure Review Program in Sub- Saharan Africa and was organized with financial support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It surveyed the needs of government representatives around technical assistance on agriculture public expenditure analysis and defined the specific activities and objectives of the network of experts.
The network of experts will support African Union Member States to achieve their commitments to the CAADP mutual accountability process, including the biennial reporting to the African Union Commission and the agricultural joint sector reviews.
