Hillary Ainebyona joined the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) in March 2026 as a Volunteer Research Associate in the Sectoral Department.

Before joining EPRC, he worked as a Data Officer in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Office under the USAID Social and Behaviour Change Activity implemented by Johns Hopkins University. He also worked with the Public Investment Management Centre of Excellence (PIM-CoE).

His research interests include health economics, agricultural economics, education and skills development, labour and migration, public finance, and related areas of development policy.

Mr. Ainebyona holds a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics and a Master of Arts in Economics, both from Makerere University. He is a 2023 alumnus of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) Collaborative Master’s Programme, Joint Facility for Electives. In 2024, he also participated in a student exchange programme at the European University Institute in Italy.
