The escalation of the Ukraine-Russia war affects business operations, dampening Uganda’s business climate

The business perceptions in the current quarter (April-June) declined by 16 basis points from 80.1 in the previous quarter (January-March) to 64.1 in the current quarter (April-June). The below potential performance in business sentiment was primarily brought about by the unfavourable business environment, high input costs, and low product prices largely driven by the ongoing war in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed on Russia.
