Elizabeth Birabwa Aliro joined EPRC as an Information Management and Dissemination Specialist on 14th November 2011. She is now the Programmes Manager.
Prior to joining EPRC, Ms. Birabwa worked with the Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization as Information, Communication and Outreach Officer, a post she held for five years. She also worked with the Population Secretariat, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development as Senior Programme Officer in charge of Information, Education, Communication and Advocacy. Elizabeth has undertaken several consultancies in communication research and advocacy strategy development within Uganda and the EAC region.
Ms. Birabwa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Makerere University and a Masters Degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Botswana. She has vast experience in advocacy, communication for development, media relations, information management and materials development. She has several years practical work experience in the health, population fisheries and environment sectors.
